Shellback's Blend

Introducing our Shellback's Blend coffee, a unique blend of beans from Peru and Guatemala. This blend is carefully crafted to embody the spirit of the sailors known as "Shellbacks". The blend is a combination of beans from north and south of the equator, resulting in a complex and well-balanced cup. Slimy Pollywogs get inducted into "The Mysteries of the Deep" whereby each Pollywog is expected to endure a standard initiation rite in order to become a Shellback. The initiation begins on Wog Day, the eve of the equatorial crossing.

 

After crossing the equator, Pollywogs appear before King Neptune and his court who are Trusty Shellbacks that officiate the ceremony.

 

Once the ceremony is complete, a Pollywog receives a certificate declaring their new status as a Shellback and is cherished by all sailors who attain it.
